A Flower in Your Meadow

-
Scene III: A Flower in Your Meadow

(Lokai):
i am not upon a throne
The light in me it is your own
Bearing witness i am here
This purpose is so clear
A flower in your meadow
Let the garden grow
Wonder wane to wisdom
Life becoming known

(Elric & Lokai):
(1st chorus)
We sing to whom it may concern
We sing that all may now discern
We sing that we may now return
love to whom it may concern
You cannot love your friends
Until you love yourself
You cannot know this Life
Unless you know yourself
Unless you know yourself

(Elric):
A mirror in your company
reflecting one and all
Listen to your heartbeat
tearing down the wall
A flower in your meadow
opening your door
The sea of life reflecting
light upon your shore

(Elric & Lokai):
(2nd chorus)
We sing to whom it may concern
We sing that all may now discern
We sing that we may now return
love to whom it may concern
We are just a mirror
a flower and a friend
We are but reflection
till the never-end
Until the never-end

Tid Bits:
The idea and earliest version of the lyrics date to 1987. The opening guitar melody was written in 1988. Both lyrics and music continued to change for 20 years until they were recorded.
The initial idea was first written as a short story in which a flower in your meadow is a moment in one’s life when things come clearly into view.

Story Synopsis:
The magic of Elric and Lokai’s music is that it somehow provides a mirror for the listener to see him or herself more clearly.
