Written in 1990, this was originally one of Dave’s solo songs with a worldly theme. They later realized that this was a perfect fit for Whisperwood and the big question for Lokai. While in development, Dave searched for ideas from others and began asking friends what they would do if they were King for a Day. One of the defining moments in the process of this song was when a good friend of Eric and Dave’s in Tucson, AZ (who also hails from Berkshire County, MA) was asked by Dave, “What would you do if you were King for a Day”? He paused a moment and said strongly, “I’d change the rules, and teach the world to play”. Dave’s legs went weak with sheer joy and knew that was it!
Story Synopsis:
So, Lokai goes out into the world and finds Elric again. Lokai was quite successful restoring Whisperwood to health, and now answers the question Elric posed some time ago--“what would you do if you were king for a day”?
