Last Adieu (Muirigheal’s Bidding)

-
Scene VII: Last Adieu (Muirigheal’s Bidding)

(Muirigheal):
Let this be a day without mourn
As my body dies my spirit’s born
Do not shed a tear for me
just smile and listen to what i’ve seen
Please forgive my clouded youth
Since then my heart has found a truth
From the eve of destruction to melding the Guild
but human hearts are still unfulfilled

(chorus):
Lokai heed my final word
my testament and will
You and Elric have a greater yet
destiny to fill
Lokai fetch your brother
Travel forth to the human land
Let them taste the fruits of life
they need to understand

For human hearts are greening
their chances are but gone
Greenhorns in the greenwood
you’ll share with them your song
The two of you are servants who
have so much living still to do
Tell Elric of my dream of you
to give them life anew

(repeat chorus):

Fare thee well my faithful ones
for your song is never through
Fare thee well my faithful sons
i bid thee sweet adieu
i bid thee sweet adieu
i bid thee sweet adieu
bid thee sweet adieu
i bid thee sweet adieu

Sweet adieu

Tid Bits:
Written in the mid 1990s. This is the only song from Whisperwood that was ever played live in the real Whisperwood. Of the Whisperwood players, Eric, Dave, Trope, Heather, and Darlene all hail from Berkshire County Massachusetts. Eric has always considered the forests of home to be the real-world version of Whisperwood. In 1994, Eric, Dave, and Trope played the Last Adieu live at La Cocina Restaurant in Pittsfield. Trope played bass--yeah, he’s a damn fine bass player, too!

Story Synopsis:
Mother’s dying words to Lokai are that he must find his brother and take their song to the human lands, the one place in the world they’ve never been.
